I have wanted to see The Wrestler since its release. Last night I got to see it free in The Ivy House. Every Tuesday night is Movie Night in The Ivy House. Comfy couches and candles make for a cosy setting. Wireless headphones drown out the noise of the surrounding bar. Six people filled the couches but there is plenty of restaurant type seating.

A slip of paper is left for you to request movies you want to see. Looking at the list of movies that have shown, there is a good mix of action, romcoms and drama. The listing is missing some classics though!

Minnie and I arrived early to grab some food. Dinner for two and four drinks came to 31 euro. Nice cheap midweek night out!

IFI Horrorthon Festival

Horrorthon

As I am just about too old for trick or treating, I have been searching for something fun to do for Halloween this year. The most interesting event, is actually a week early, it is the Irish Film Institutes Horrorthon. The festival takes place over five days. Five days of non stop horror.

The festival is a mix of old and new, Irish and international. The Irish horror movies will be of particular interest. I wont be able to make some of the days which means I can not avail of the festival ticket, which at €125 is a great price for the volume of movies available. Instead I am going to pick some movies I will attend, they are:
